NGTV: Kiss frontman Gene Simmons' own YouTube/Joost rival
Everyone wants a piece of the web video action right now, thanks to the growth of YouTube, and the emergence of innovative online TV startups like Joost and Babelgum.
Kiss’ Gene Simmons has seen the dollars, so he’s invested in a startup called No Good TV (NGTV for short), as well as joining as chairman of the board. It’s more of a Joost than a YouTube – the idea is to attract users with professionally-produced video content.
Jackass fans will love it. There’s copious amounts of swearing, and the service has two animated hosts: a Cock and a Beaver. Yes, that’s a rooster and a furry tree-gnawing animal, but you see what they did there.
