E3: Nintendo gets shooty with the Wii Zapper
It’s certainly been an eventful E3 so far for Nintendo, having shown off its Wii Fit workout game and Wii Mario Kart – both of which come with custom peripherals in the shape of the Wii Balance Board and Wii Wheel. But the Big N didn’t stop there: also unveiled was the Wii Zapper, a gun peripheral that’s been rumoured for some time.
It’s actually a gun shell, if I’m being accurate, which is designed to hold your Wiimote and nunchuck controllers. Once they’re plugged in, you’ve got a neat machine gun. Nintendo says it’ll be creating some games that’ll ship with the Wii Zapper, but it’ll also work with Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, Ghost Squad and the next Medal Of Honor game.
It’s due on sale by the end of the year. The number of different Wii peripherals is mushrooming by the day – I can’t help wondering if the average Wii owner will have enough room for them all…
