Samsung R87 high definition LCD TV unveiled
Samsung is building upon the success of its R74 LCD TV range with the launch of its streamlined R87 high definition LCD television.
It uses Samsung’s Movie Plus mode which adds additional frames as required so as to output at 50Hz, cutting down on motion blur particularly during fast scenes.
It’s high definition ready, featuring three HDMI inputs, and sound wise it features SRS TruSurround XT. It has a response rate of 8ms, though the specifications suggest that it’s not full 1080p, nor does it handle HDMI version 1.3. It features a 1,366×768 resolution, 450 nits brightness, and brightness of between 4,000:1 and 8,000:1, dependent on screen size.
It”s available in piano black or white finish, featuring hidden speakers, and comes in 23, 26, 32, 37, and 40 inch sizes.

Yes you’re right, Gordon, it’s been out for a couple of months now, but it didn’t get a mention here. It doesn’t make it any less valid a TV. We missed it first time round – sorry! 🙂
