Yamaha to launch world's most powerful USB speaker – the NX-U10
Another bold claim to kick off the week, this time from Yamaha, which is launching the NX-U10 – the world’s most powerful USB speaker. Probably.
The NX-U10 offers 20w of sound. Since a USB port can only provide 5V/0.5A of power, regular USB speakers offer just 0.5W per channel. But the NX-U10 features the ‘Charged Capacitor Amplifier’, allowing it to pump out more than 10 times the power – 10W x 2. It also uses SR-Bass technology, which means the quality of bass reproduced is every bit as good as that from a much larger speaker.
The NX-U10 can also operate with batteries and it has a 3.5mm jack for additional connectivity. It should be available late in the year, retailing for £149.
