Dice iTPA-220 – an affordable valve amp sound system for your iPod
We have featured valve amp sound systems in the past, but usually with hefty price tags (the Fatman range starts at around £500). However, a new system could change all that.
The Dice iTPA-220 for iPod promises that warm analogue sound for much less than the competition – $299 at launch, which is around £150. And according to the manufacturer, that price is without comprimising the audiophile sound. It’s based on dual 20-watt 6N3 tube pre-amps and comes with a pair of wooden bookshelf speakers. The speakers feature a 4-inch mid/bass driver, a 1-inch dome tweeter and are bass-reflex ported for more depth.
It will also charge your iPod while docked and comes with a remote control. You can pre-order now for a September launch.
