i-gotU GPS gizmo geotags your photos for Google Earth 3D wizardry when you get home
A new gadget from Taiwan promises to make it easier to geotag your digital photos and turn them into 3D Google Earth adventures.
The i-gotU GPS tracker is made by a company called Mobile Action, who claims it works with all digital cameras AND camera phones. You can also use it for more traditional purposes, as a GPS receiver for your PDA or mobile phone. No Western release date or price has been announced yet.
It’s an intriguing product, but geotagging is still a relatively geeky niche – and I can’t help thinking that by the time it becomes more mainstream, it’ll be because GPS is integrated into digital cameras, rather than being separate accessories.
Still, for early adopters, the i-gotU will be worth a look if and when it comes out here. Maybe they’ll make a miniature version and call it the i-gotU Babe waves shoehorn with pride
