Social networking site Piczo and Penguin want teens to design classic novels' covers
Piczo, the social networking site I mentioned the other week who are relying on teens to help big brands in their marketing campaigns, certainly are busy people. They’ve just made an alliance with book publishers Penguin, called the My Penguin Campaign, to help increase teens’ interest in literature.
They’ve already recruited a bunch of musicians’ help, ranging from Razorlight to Beck, to Ryan Adams and Mr. Hudson and the Library, who have all re-designed several of Penguin’s big sellers, including Le Grand Meaulnes by Alain Fournier, which Beck chose to revamp, above.
Any interested teens can head on over to Piczo to get started on redesigning their own classic Penguin novel, and the winners will receive albums by all the bands judging the competition, and sets of the novels. Too easy, and with the chance that Beck and Ryan Adams may just be eyeballing your own designs, well, I’m wishing I were still a teenager. Minus the non-drinking aspect, of course.
