Apple's iPhone passes the million sales mark
Apple has announced that it sold its millionth iPhone yesterday, taking it past the million mark 74 days after its launch in June.
“One million iPhones in 74 days – it took almost two years to achieve this milestone with iPod,” says Steve Jobs. What’ll be interesting is to see how long it now takes to hit two million sales, what with the $200 price drop that was announced last week, and an upcoming launch in Europe.
Oh, I’ve just realised that Apple is offering a $100 Apple Store credit to people who bought an iPhone before the price cut. Assuming that’s 950,000 or so, that’s a whopping $95 million. Oof!
