HTC Touch Dual: the popular Touch now has a slide-out keyboard and 3.5G connectivity
I just got back from the swanky HTC launch at Kensington Roof Gardens in London, where the smartphone company launched not one, but four new mobiles, so expect to see a lot of HTC-centric posts today as we churn through the new models.
Included in the new range is the HTC Touch Dual, the follow-up to the successful Touch which launched back in June of this year. According to HTC, the Touch has sold over 800,000 units in Europe alone, and this new model should definitely strengthen the Touch reputation.
This phone will make you say ‘iPhone-schmyphone’, as the 3.5G mobile is armed with HSDPA connectivity, 2-megapixel camera, a slide-out keyboard with the choice of either 12 or 20 keys, 256MB memory expandable with a microSD slot, Bluetooth 2.0, and touch-driven photo slideshow functioning.
Users are able to flick through photos with the use of one finger, zoom in and out of photos with a swirl of a finger, and rotate, yes, with a poke of that trusty finger of yours. Out at the end of October, it will be exclusive to Orange for a few weeks on a £35 plan, and then hit other networks afterwards. If black doesn’t grab you, HTC are planning an ‘Arctic Silver’ colour by Christmas. Catchy!
