Wacom has announced its new Cintiq 12WX, a high end graphics tablet solution that’s sure to appeal to anyone who works with a lot of artistic, technical drawing, and digital content applications.

It features a high quality 12.1-inch widescreen display capable of 1,280 x 800 resolution at 24 bit colour depth, with a 170 degree viewing angle and 5,080lpi resolution. The pressure sensitive tablet and pen offers up to 1,024 pressure levels, with Tilt functionality that can recognise the pen at up to a 60 degree angle.

It also features a stand optimised for using the tablet flat, and at 25 or 65 degrees from horizontal.

The unit has five ExpressKeys which can be programmed for common keypresses, such as CTRL, ALT, SHIFT, SPACE, or to change display modes. There’s also a Touch Strip which acts like a scroll bar with presets to allow zooming and scrolling in various applications.

It weighs 2kg, so is portable enough for mobile use as well as being able to integrate into existing desktop setups, where it can be used as a second or third monitor.

It comes with Corel Painter Essentials software, and will be available from November, priced £829.99.
