Ferrari opening its own theme park… in Abu Dhabi
Disneyland? Schmisneyland! Alton Towers? Rubbish! Thorpe Park? Don’t make me laugh. The ideal theme park would be based on, ooh, red Italian Formula 1 cars. And whaddya know, Ferrari is opening its own theme park in 2009.
However, it’s not based in Italy. Instead, the 250,000 square-metre park will be located in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. Expect high-tech cinemas, driving schools, all manner of Ferrari exhibits, and “food and entertainment”. Oh, and enormous rollercoasters, obviously.
What’s more, the theme park will also contain a full race circuit, which will actually be used for the Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix in 2009. Which is a bit harsh on the other F1 teams, making them race round a course in the middle of Ferrari’s theme park. By then, of course, LewisHamiltonland will have opened near Stevenage. Possibly.
