iPhone tops UK search engine rankings as launch fever starts

Getting excited yet? The iPhone goes on sale this Friday in the UK, and already us Brits are frothing at the mouth in anticipation. Well, those of us who are Apple fanboys, anyway.
What’s more, it’s showing through in our online activity, with Hitwise reporting that iPhone was the most searched-for mobile phone in the UK for the four weeks leading up to 20th October. The company’s stats tracked retail websites here in the UK.
However, it’s not all bad news for Apple’s rivals. Nokia took top spot in Hitwise’s table of phone brands, while its N95 was second behind the iPhone in the handsets chart. That beefed-up N95 8GB is clearly attracting interest too.
