Sergey Brin proudly shows off new baby Android platform in YouTube video
The announcement concerning Google’s Android platform was made only eight days ago, but I’m sure most of you are already jonesing for a video tutorial on just what the heck it is. Thankfully the bouffant-haired Sergey Brin from Google is on hand to show you the merits of having an open-source platform for a mobile handset, along with Engineering Director, Steve Horowitz.
Key features they show in the video include the ease of use searching for addresses on Google Maps, instant messaging, the optimised mobile browser, visual web-browsing history (obviously channelling Vista’s Slideshow), and the exciting $10 million opportunity for developers to design applications for the open-source platform.
