Habbo launches Trax Factor – create your own virtual record label
Habbo is letting the kids run the music business – at least in the short term – with its Trax Factor competition.
Habbo users gets to create their own virtual record labels, organising everything, including setting up their record label, promoting it, signing up artists and promoting a chosen single. A shortlist of the best promoted artists will be voted by the Habbo community, with the winner judged in a final stand off on the 19th December by leading representatives from Mercury Music Group, music-sourcing agency Record-Play and lead singer George Craig from One Night Only.
Be prepared to create a record label office, build a recording studio, organise launch parties in Habbo Hotel, and of course, attract and sign-up talent to your label. Artists also need to get noticed and signed by creating their own single with the ‘Traxmachine’, Habbo’s online music mixing and sample tool. Labels will then need to increase their artist’s popularity by hosting events, touring popular clubs within Habbo, arranging home page autograph signings and creating games.
Sounds like much fun. The campaign runs in Habbo from the 3rd December until the 19th December – so you still have time if you get moving.
