Samsung will show a 40-inch OLED TV at CES 2008
We’re less than a month away from one of the biggest consumer electronics shows on the planet, and manufacturers are starting to shout about the new products they’ll be showcasing at CES 2008.
Samsung reckon they’ll have a 40-inch high definition TV based on OLED (organic light-emitting diode) technology. That’s 29 inches bigger than Sony’s first effort.
OLED technology offers TVs with wider viewing angles, faster response times and better contrast and colours, although it’s currently relatively difficult to manufacture, and the materials degrade over time (hint: organic)
We covered Sony’s effort, and HDTV reported on Toshiba’s plans to introduce OLED TVs by 2009..
