YouTube expands Partner Program – make money from your clips
YouTube piloted its Partner Program earlier in the year, allowing some of its ‘most popular and prolific original content creators’ to make money from the clips they upload. It obviously worked well as the company is expanding it to lesser-known uploaders.
Well, uploaders in the United States or Canada anyway – although YouTube points out that it will roll out to more international markets soon. But there are still safeguards from the company’s point of view. You need to apply to join the program, prove you have a significant audience on YouTube and ‘consistently comply with the YouTube Terms of Use’, which is probably corporate speak for ‘no copyrighted material’.
If you fit the brief and happen to be in the US or Canada, riches could await.
