CES 2008: Samsung unveils Q1 Ultra Premium UMPC
Share
2008 could be a big year for teeny-tiny laptops (sorry, Ultra Mobile PCs), with the Asus Eee PC lighting a rocket under the market. Samsung showed off its new UMPC this afternoon during its press conference, and it’s looking pretty nifty.
It’s packing a 1.33GHz processor, 1GB of memory, an 80GB hard drive and an SD/MMC card slot. It weighs less than two pounds, and Samsung is claiming a battery life of up to 7.5 hours.
The device also has a split QWERTY keyboard with larger keys than previous models. Connectivity-wise, it has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and there’s two cameras built in – a webcam and a separate 1.3-megapixel camera.
