Not much else to say about the Nikon Coolpix S550, S520 and S210
Yet more Nikon cameras?! Well, you can’t accuse them of doing things in halves, can you!
These Coolpix models are several steps up from the aforementioned L18, with the better of the three being the S550 (pictured), with 10-megapixels, a 5x optical zoom lens and a 2.5″ LCD screen. That model will be out in February for $229, and is compatible with SDHC memory cards. For less megapixels and, as some would say, a slightly better picture, take a look at the S520, which has just an 8-megapixel sensor, plus a 3x zoom and optical stabilization up to ISO 2000.
It’ll be available in several colours including a rather dishy plum shade, and will be the same price as the more speccy model, $229.95.
Those that still want to afford rent next month should give the S210 a trial. For $179, you get 8-megapixels, a 3x optical zoom, electronic vibration reduction image stabilization and a 2.5″ LCD screen.
