Studies claim eBay users save billions of dollars each year – do you?
According to a new study from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, buyers are saving “billions of dollars each year” by buying on eBay.
In 2003, buyers saved $7 billion that they would’ve normally spent paying full price on the same item, with £8.4 billion being saved the next year. Projections for 2007 shows buyers saved around $19 billion.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t think I’ve been saving much on eBay recently – my eBay buying has definitely increased in the past year, but I think my savings have decreased. This is no doubt due to the items I buy, generally sold-out concert tickets and limited edition items, but what about everyone else, buying video games, clothes and porcelain figurines?
