The situation at Motorola may be dire, however over at LG’s headquarters in South Korea, they’re popping bottles of bubbly and blowing on party-streamers like they’ve just won the jackpot.
Which they have, to a certain extent – it looks likely that the company is set to become the world’s fourth biggest handset manufacturer, due to successes like the Prada and Viewty handsets of last year, the latter selling one million units. They’re expecting to clock up 23 million sales in the first quarter of 2008, considering higher than Sony Ericsson’s sales estimations of 22 million.
