9 million copies of The Sims downloaded to mobiles
It’s a mobile monopoly! If you’re the kind of cat who likes to play games on your handheld, then chances are you’re playing some kind of The Sims as we speak and you’re not alone, because Electronic Arts Mobile division have announced that a staggering 9 million mobiles have downloaded their games.
But if you’re really looking to be blown away, The Sims dynasty – which includes The Sims, The Sims 2, The Sims 2 Castaway, The Sims 2 Pets, The Sims Bowling, The Sims DJ and The Sims Pool 3D – have managed to clock up over 100 million sales since 2000.
Now if each of those sales represents a different person, then around 1.5% of the population of the planet plays The Sims. Not bad.
