Rich Hunt's PowerBook to desktop Mac mod – as good as any thoroughbred from the Apple stables
Computer modifiers absolutely blow me away. I take my hat off to each and every one of you. I’ve seen motorbikes and Pink Floyd inspired hot rods but sometimes it’s that touch of elegance that takes your breath away. So today, Rich Hunt, my round of applause goes to you.
Rich has hacked his Mac. Seems to be the theme of the day. He hadn’t planned on it but after nurturing hinge repairs and painstaking paint re-sprays, his beloved PowerBook finally gave up the ghost.
But never one to give up in the face of something as trifling as a broken screen, Rich bolted together some white acrylic from his shower with a little perforated steel off eBay and hey presto, a new, slimline, desktop Mac design worthy of Jonathan Ive himself.
