hitachi_shortthrow.jpgYou no longer need a huge room for some projection-based home cinema, with an increasing number of ‘short-throw’ projectors on the market – including the newly-launched Hitachi CPX3.

Except Hitachi doesn’t say how close you can get, just that you get a wide-angle lens that can be used “close to the screen with no obstructions”. Aside from that, this WXGA (1280 x 800) projector offers 2,000 lumens of brightness, HDMI input, a built-in 1 watt speaker and security systems should you wish to use it for business.

Not the best-looking projector you’ll see, but not the most expensive either at around £500.
