My name is Dan and This Is My jam, the new beatmatched mixtape service
I’m a sucker for music sites. There’s no two ways about it, and there’s something deliciously simple about This Is My jam – a mixtape site that comes with your own private DJ.
What you do is search for songs for your mix and drag ‘n drop up to 15 of them into the window of this very smooth running, wonderfully stark, 70s rock-look site. This Is My Jam will then choose a running order for your tracks and automatically beatmatch the songs together. You can choose your own order if you wish but don’t expect the world’s smoothest mixes if you insist on running from Slipknot to Sinatra.
Your jam then appears in the form of a media player for you to listen to, share, embed, digg, stumble or whatever your interactive infoweb needs. Sounds good, right? Well, nearly.
The major stumbling block to this excellent idea and stylish presentation is that the tracks are only 20 seconds long. Useless, and what’s more, the catalogue is severely wanting.
Gutting really, but at least This Is My Jam is good for simply sending your mates a bit of a taster of what you’re listening to.
Have a play and send me in a taste of your own. My name’s Dan and This Is My Jam:
