Panasonic gets into OLED TVs, but plasmas are still great
Share
Details are sketchy, but Panasonic (Matsushita) has announced that it intends to start production of OLED TVs “in the future”. No firm dates like Samsung or Sony, but proof that the big players in TV production expect OLED to be the next big display technology.
Panny is certainly not ditching plasma, though. We know that they’re collaborating with Pioneer, and for good reason: they want to grab 60% of the PDP market this year.
They want 15% of the overall flat panel TV market, 25% for TVs over 37 inches, and 10% of the LCD market. reportedly.
