Stream music from iTunes to iPhone or iPod Touch using Simplify Media
The problem with the iPhone and iPod Touch is that their fairly limited hard drives can be used for so much more than just music, that if you’ve got an extensive collection of songs you can’t carry them all around at once.
If that bothers you, and you frequent Wi-Fi hotspots often on your travels, then Simplify Media has updated their streaming software to include the iPhone and iPod Touch.
Not surprisingly, it requires a hack to work — the AppTap Installer in fact — but once done, music from your own and your friends’ iTunes collections can be streamed over Wi-Fi to be played in real time.
The system already works between Macs and PCs, on iTunes and WinAmp, with a beta version just released for Linux, too.
