Pro-Ject's minimalist Genie 2 vinyl turntable
Share
Pro-Ject is known for producing record decks with high-end looks and low-end prices – and the Genie 2 is no exception.
Audiophiles will appreciate a peripheral drive for improved speed stability, an inverted main bearing with close-tolerance bushes, a high-torque (yet quiet) running synchronous drive motor completely decoupled from the plinth and a machined MDF platter with a felt mat.
The more casual buyer will probably be happy with the looks, the S-shaped tone-arm with an Ortofon OM3e cartridge and the option to play both 33/45 speed records. Probably the price tag too – £140.
