Style beats substance with the Brionvega Alpha TV/DVD unit

First glimpsed as a concept, the Brionvega Alpha TV/DVD has finally gone into production.
For your money, you get this modernist-inspired 19-inch set, along with built-in DVD player that’s also good for audio playback and a remote control that’s worth the admission itself.
On the downside, this isn’t HD-ready, a digital tuner costs extra and the 4:3 ratio isn’t going to be for everyone. But if style means more than substance, it’s here by the bucketload from around £1,540 in a choice of three colours.
