Elonex 10.2" webbook PC at the Carphone Warehouse
I think I’m going to explode with all the new sub-notebooks, netbooks, UMPCs or however these companies wish to market their variety internet devices. Today is the turn of Elonex who have brought out something sort of in between a sub-notebook and laptop with their 10.2″ webbook. Yeah, cheers for the extra name to add to the list.
It’s got a 1.6GHz processor – most likely Atom – 512MB RAM, Wi-Fi of course, 3 USB ports and it’ll ship with both Windows and Linux. The plan is to sell them through the Carphone Warehouse either separately or for free with home broadband packages.
At 1.3kg and with its larger screen, it is a slightly different proposition to the Eee PC lot and having just got a bit of a headache from working on Acer’s new Aspire One for a couple of hours, the idea of something slightly bigger sounds good. I’d be most interested in giving it a try.
The price as yet is a mystery but they should be out later this month. Keep ’em peeled.
