Rumour: O2 gets fruity with Apple – free 3G iPhones and many more bargains
Well, lucky, lucky all you iPhone freaks with the patience to wait for a better deal from Uncle Jobs and his UK partner, because word has it that O2 is going to have a whole bunch of deals on offer to boost the sales of the 3G iPhone just for you.
According to Macworld, the new handset will be sold for a much more reasonable 100 spot along with that ever-popular and cripplingly lengthy 18-month contract. If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, you can always pay-as-you-go but you will have to buy the 3G iPhone at the original price of £269.
However, if money is no option, then no money is an option too. Sign up for the top tariff – £75/month for 3,000 mins and 500 txts – and you’ll get the new handset absolutely free.
But never fear current iPhone customers, you haven’t been left out either. You’ll be able to upgrade your dated old duffer for free with the only catch that you will have to commit to another 18 months. No biggie really.
Right, well. O2 is ready, we’re ready. Now all Apple has to do is launch the sodding thing.
