Nokia N96 to hit UK shops on 1st October
Nokia has announced today that their much anticipated Nokia N96 handset will be available for all to queue up for come Wednesday 1st October in the year of our Lord, 2008. Stick it in your diary, book the day off, start prepping the groundwork for a well timed sickie.
The prices are as yet unconfirmed, although a few months back they were touted as being some kind of back breaking £599. Perhaps £100 with a contract might be something more like it nearer the time.
It’s all rather preferencey when it comes to phone manufacturers but Nokia-philes out there shouldn’t be too disappointed despite early murmurings from Russia but, just in case you’ve been living in a cave without Wi-Fi for the last six months…
…the N96 is basically Nokia’s flagship model, one up on the N95, with a 5-megapixel shooter and Charlie Z lens, 16BG of expandable internal memory, A-GPS and a DVB tuner but take a look at this iPhone 3G comparison for more detailed specs, and if they still sound a little pricey to you, you can always try and win one instead.
You can pick up the N96 from 3, Carphone Warehouse, Orange, Phones4U, T-Mobile, and Vodafone – basically anywhere except 02.
