Sony goes large with Vaio FW series of notebooks
Well, Dell (and just about everyone else) might be going smaller, but Sony is going larger with the Vaio FW series of notebooks.
Just launched in the US, the FW series is headed up by a premium model with a new 16.4″ LCD with Full HD resolution and the option to view two websites or documents side-by-side, a Blu-ray drive, HDMI output and an Intel Centrino 2 chipset.
You can add to that a DLNA-enabled media sharing application for streaming content. movie editing software, lots of connectivity (including USB and common card slots) and Wi-Fi.
Available in titanium gray and powder white, the FW premium model will go for around $1,750 in the US. Don’t expect that to work out at £850 in the UK.
