Will Wright is a big fan of Spornography
As we previously reported, Spore – the forthcoming game from Sims creator Will Wright, is full of penises. Maxis, for their part, have been deleting these dongle-monsters (pictured) from their database as rapidly as possible, but Will has been chatting to the Associated Press about how he feels about Sporenography:
“When you give players creative control, you have to expect they’re going to do the unexpected,”he said, putting it mildly. “Some of it’s really good for what they were shooting for. It’s amazingly explicit, especially when those creations are animated. We just have to make sure those people aren’t messing up the experience for others.”
It’s just over a week until Spore is released on 7th Sept, and I think I might actually go and buy a video game on the day of release for the first time since I queued up early for Age of Empires 2 and got a free tshirt. Spore, from early reviews, looks like it’s going to be an incredible web-connected social experience. I can’t wait.
