IFA 2008: Wibrain UMPC with everthing you'd want from a netbook

If ever there was a product to split the public, the Wibrain UMPC is it. The 526g block packs a serious punch with a 1.33GHz Atom processor, 1GB of DDR RAM, a rather neat 1024×640 4.8″ TFT touchscreen and, frankly, you can’t really argue with that. It even comes with a choice of either XP or Linux with 30GB/60GB of HDD space and 8GB/16GB/32GB of solid state memory as well.

The guts just aren’t in question. It’s all about the design. Would you like to carry one around? Not really built for the pocket but how about for a bag? And what about typing? All the keys are the same size, making even the space bar pretty hard to locate in a hurry.

The Wibrain comes in a variety of colours ranging more sensible to much less so and I’ll let you know about cost and distribution as soon as I hear. I suppose the next thing to do is get one in and test it out.
