Pioneer intros sleek, audiophile-friendly Series 8 speakers
Pioneer has announced its new line of Series 8 audiophile-quality speakers, available in three models: S-81 floor-standing, S-81B-LR bookshelf, and S-81C centre speaker. Unfortunately, we don’t yet have any photos of them, though they sound rather nice.
Created by an international team of acoustic engineers, they feature an advanced speaker unit construction including concentric tweeter/midrange driver, a tweeter made from titanium, and Harmonised Synthetic Diaphragm Optimum Method technology which can reproduce the very high frequencies found in high definition recordings.
At the other end of the sound spectrum, the Series 8 woofers feature a rigid aluminium basket frame, enhanced damping properties, and reduced unwanted resonance.
The speakers have a maximum power of 130W, with 6Ω impedance, and are available in a range of finishes, including high gloss black, whitewash, and ash veneer.
Available from October, prices to be confirmed.
