Microsoft says "Mii too!" and will join the casual fun on November 19th
We’ve known for a while now that Microsoft has been planning to change the Xbox dashboard into something less bewildering for casual gamers and now we can finally put a date on when to expect the Xbox 360 to change overnight from a machine almost exclusively dedicated to first-person shooters to a machine almost exclusively dedicated to mini-game collections and rhythm games.
On November 19th, the new dashboard will launch. As you may already know, one of the major new features is the creation of cartoon-style avatar characters who you can customise in use in games. Sound familiar? It’s quite a shrewd move considering the relatively recent revelation that non-gamers tend to have quite a lot of disposable income.
To coincide with the new dashboard, Microsoft are releasing a number of new titles for their hypothetical new users this Christmas: such as “Lips”, movie quiz “Scene It? Box Office Smash” and “You’re in the Movies” – I’m guessing focus groups of normal people told Microsoft that they like “films”.
