Bang & Olufsen unveil shiny new digital media player

Mr Bang and Mr Olufsen have come up with a new high-quality audio device that you probably can’t afford. The BeoSound 5 is a fancy looking digital music player comes with an on-board 500GB HDD so you can listen to your tunes at lossless quality on your no-doubt expensive Bang & Olufsen speakers.

What’s interesting is that aside from looking pretty swish, it comes with B&O’s “more of the same” technology that will play similar sounding tracks to the one you’re listening to… a bit like iTunes’ Genius feature.

The device is designed to be a “living room icon”, which is a marketing code-word for that noise plumbers and mechanics make when things are going to be pricy – it’ll set you back £3,500, and you’ll have to wait until March to get your hands on it.
