JVC rolls out PVR-integrated LCD TVs
JVC has announced its new DE9 series of LCD TVs featuring built-in 160GB hard disc based PVR and Freeview tuners.
Available in 26- and 32-inch screen sizes, these are HD Ready sets with a screen resolution of 1,366 x 768, so won’t display full 1080p content without scaling it.
Fully Freeview+ compliant, with two built-in digital tuners and an analogue tuner, the sets allow users to record two shows at once, pause and rewind live TV, and get detailed information via the seven-day Electronic Programme Guide. It also allows for series and split recordings.
The sets are kitted out with the Dynapix Plus picture engine, a one-chip system which scales and formats the image for more natural colours, contours and contrast. In addition, the 32-inch set features slim oblique cone speakers for enhanced audio.
The 26-incher has a 5,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, with the 32-inch set at 5,500:1, plus a variety of HDMI, component, and SCART inputs, and S/PDIF digital audio output.
