Virgin Mobile shows off "UK's lowest" £8.50-per-month mobile tariff
Virgin Mobile has announced what it claims is the UK’s best value monthly tariff, sprinting in at just £8.50 per month.
Granted, you’re not going to get a top-of-the-range smartphone for that kind of cash, but what you do get is 100 minutes and 100 texts per month on a choice of handsets including the Samsung G600, LG KC550 and Nokia 3120.
Other perks on the package include free voicemail, six months of free instant messaging on the Samsung and Nokia handsets and use of Virgin’s mobile Internet service.
Of course, if you go over your monthly allowance you’ll likely be stung with high call and text rates so it’s worth checking that out before you sign on the dotted line. Still, for low end users who want a contract, it’s not a bad deal. Expect others to follow.

This TechDigest article bought to you by eight(!) Orange Pay Monthly graphic adverts and four dynamic text adverts for O2…
You guys couldn’t write a biased article even if you tried to with that kind of stringent, automated backend restoring balance to the force! Haha! 😀
We knew Orange and O2 were unhappy, but we didn’t realise quite how unhappy…
