Apple iMacs get a RAM injection but no facelift this time
They’ve been a while in the coming but the iMacs are here. As predicted, we’re looking at four models, one in 20-inch size and others in a size 24.
They run on the Intel Core 2 Duo systems – rather than the quad cores that many were hoping for – at 2.66 GHz, 2.93 GHz and 3.06 GHz speeds but they do, at least, come impressively RAMed with 2GB on the smaller model and either 4GB or 8GB of DDR3 on the 24-inchers. All quite saucy stuff.
The 20-inch model comes with 320GB HDD, an NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics cards and the standard 8x double-layer SuperDrive. You can pick them it up for £949here, now.
The 24-inchers can be found at the same place for £1,199, £1,499 and £1,799 and with those you get either 640GB or 1 whole TB of HDD, and upgrades to a 256MB NVIDIA GeForce GT120 or 521MB NVIDIA GeForce GT 130 with the two more expensive ones.
All models have 4 x USB ports, Bluetooth 2.1, a Gigabit Ethernet port and a single FireWire 800.
