Canon PowerShot SX120 IS Digital Camera
New from Canon is this £229 mid-range digital compact camera. While it won’t win any beauty competitions, it seems to have a fair share of decent features including 10 x optical zoom lens, 10 Megapixel sensor and a whole raft of options for reducing camera shake and image blur.
Successor to the PowerShot SX110 IS it comes with Image Stabiliser, ISO Auto and Motion Detection Technology to form, they claim, a complete Anti Blur solution (clearly they’ve seen my parents’ previous digital snaps).
DIGIC4 is supposed to take care of difficult lighting conditions and ensure natural colour reproduction. It also offers Face Detection Technology that automatically recognises up to 35 faces in a scene (why 35 – perhaps that’s the optimum wedding number?) and automatically adjust key focus and exposure settings.
Other features include Face Self Timer (the camera waits until it detects a new face in the frame before taking a shot) and Face Select and Track which selects a particular face to be the main subject of the photo, no matter where they move around in the frame.
