Back in the day subwoofers used to be square boxes things that you hid away behind the sofa to invariably became a snoozing place for your cat – well until you switched it on that is.
However in these style concious times even the sub had had a makeover cue the HTB2SE-W from UK speaker maker KEF.
It has two key features; its design, it looks like a mini flying saucer and the fact that it is wireless so you really can site it anywhere in a room.
It is due next month, features a 250W Class-D amplifier that powers a 10inch driver and boasts something called a Smartbass control for when you really want to feel those low frequencies. Price will be in the region of £800,
