Sky TV on an Xbox 360 – not long to wait now

Got an Xbox 360? Fancy watching a bit of Sky Sports? Well you might not have long to wait. Back in the summer Sky and Microsoft announced a fairly ambitious plan to deliver video on demand and several Sky channels through the games console. Now a TV ad has appeared which shows a person watching a game of football on the Xbox 360.

So is the launch imminent? There has been some speculation that the service will launch later this month, but Sky hasn’t confirmed this.

The service will deliver up to 20 live channels and a host of video on demand footage like movies and music events. Initial demos back in May when the scheme was unveiled also displayed how Windows Live Messaging facilities could be added to the video so that user could talk about the games/movies/events they are watching with friends as they can do now when online gaming.
