Spotify and 3 deal confirmed – music streaming HTC Hero on its way
We mentioned the impending 3 and Spotify deal last week, explaining that while it is a big deal for consumers, it is not really a big deal for the companies as investors in the company that owns 3, Hutchison Whampoa, have a seat on the Spotify board.
Anyhow the details have been confirmed this morning and they are…
£35 a month, plus a £100 upfront will get you a HTC Hero with Spotify Premium bundled in along with unlimited text, 750 minutes of calls and unlimited internet usage. The Spotify sub is also good for your PC too.
Spotify has already agreed deals with a Swedish and a Norwegian network but 3 is clearly its most high profile so far as the network is active in many Asian markets as well as European ones like the UK and Switzerland. The big opportunity though is in the home market of joint 3 and Spotify investor Li Ka-Ching – China.
Here’s Spotify CEO Daniel Ek in full flow last week talking about the future of the service in a video captured by Paid Content.
