Can you make money out of Twitter? Well Dell can

The money is really starting to roll in from Dell’s twittering exploits. In June the PC firm revealed that they had made $3 million in cold hard cash from Twitter, but in a briefing yesterday revealed that that figure had more than doubled to $6.5 million.

A range of new global Dell Twitter accounts have been attributed to the new profits. Newly established Canadian (@DellHomeSalesCA) and Brazilian (@DellnoBrasil) accounts have been very successful, making $150,000 and $800,000 respectively since their launches earlier in the year.

Dell’s main Twitter account, @Delloutlet, has also seen massive growth, growing from 640,000 followers to 1,468,249.

Dell now have between 100-200 people at any one time Twittering within the business.
