Motorola Flipout leaks, MOTOBLUR update for Android 2.1 on the way?
Images of a new Motorola handset tentatively titled the Flipout have leaked online. It’s a touchscreen Android smartphone with a twist, quite literally; with an unusual square form-factor, the screen can be rotated to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard nestled underneath.
In terms of specifications, the Flipout features a 2.8-inch capacitive touchscreen, 512MB of memory and 256MB of RAM, a 700MHz processor and GPS capabilities. Available in black, green and pink, it also houses a 3.1 megapixel camera.
The unusual design probably wont suit everyone’s taste, but the Flipout’s OS reveals some interesting treats for owners of other Motorola handsets. It’s the first phone we’ve seen seemingly running Android 2.1 in tandem with Motorola’s MOTOBLUR UI, so keep a lookout for a potential update hitting Motorola’s other MOTOBLUR/Android handsets in the near future.
The Flipout is expected to hit shops in June.
