WePad tablet launches, rivals iPad with low £390 price tag

Hot on the heels of the release of the official UK pricing of the iPad comes the launch of Neofonie’s WePad. An 11.6 inch tablet, it’ll cost £390, almost £40 cheaper than the iPad.
The German built WePad runs on an Atom processor with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of flash storage and two USB ports.
It is however 800 grams heavier, which is quite a noticeable amount, and there are valid concerns on the battery life over at Fudzilla, not to mention whether it will have anything near as comprehensive an app store as Apple’s.
But with the JooJoo now out in the open and tablets from Samsung, HP and a host of others on the way, the race for a viable alternative to the iPad is truly on.
