Windows Phone 7 may potentially have massive Xbox Live Arcade catalogue
Fancy a handheld Xbox 360 console? Well, you’re not getting one any time soon. So there. You will, however, be pleased to hear that a whole load of Xbox Live Arcade games could potentially be making there way to Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 handsets.
At a round-table briefing in London Oded Ran, head of Consumer Marketing for Windows Phone, revealed that only a few coding changes would be needed to port the majority of Xbox Live Arcade games to the phone.
“Just four lines of code changed an Xbox Live Arcade game to a Windows Phone 7 game in a recent publisher test”, Ran told Pocket Lint.
That means potentially any of the 300 odd Xbox live Arcade titles could hit the smartphone, from modern gems like Braid to retro classics like Golden Axe and Shinobi.
With the same XNA coding used used to port games between the 360, Windows Phone 7 and PC, Microsoft may well have quite the trump card here when it comes to competing with Apple’s mighty number of gaming apps.

Great news I can already see a few clever gamers making money from both Xbox Live and Windows Phone
By the way I think you misquoted – it’s Xbox Live Indie games that are easily converted to Windows Phone 7 (because they use C# and XNA) – not Xbox Live Arcade.
