Gamescom 2010: RAGE release date revealed
RAGE, the long awaited new first-person shooter franchise from the brains behind Doom, Quake and Wolfenstein, has been given an official release date.
The post-apocalyptic shooter will hit shops and online distributors in the US on September 13th 2011 and Europe and Australia three days later on September 16th 2011.
“Gamers all over the world can now officially begin the countdown to the launch of RAGE,” said Todd Hollenshead, president of id Software in a press statement. “At id, the development team continues their work to complete our newest franchise that will once again elevate the shooter genre”.
It’s been a long time coming, and thanks to id Software’s id Tech 5 technology, it’s looking stunningly good on all three launch platforms; the Xbox 360, PC and PS3. There’s even an iPhone version doing the rounds which looks set to be a must buy-app if it ever makes it to the iTunes store.
