Gamescom 2010: Sony reveal 320GB and 160GB PS3 consoles
We had a pretty good idea that they were coming, and now Sony have confirmed that two new PS3 models are on their way to stores, both offering considerably more storage space.
Revealed at Sony’s Gamescom press conference, a 320GB PS3 will now replace the 250GB model as Sony’s flagship machine, while a smaller 160GB model now replaces their 120GB budget offering.
The 320GB model will come bundled with a Move motion controller and a copy of the Sports Champion game, all for the very reasonable price of £284.88. In comparison, the 160GB model, which does not form part of a bundle, seems like a raw deal at £249.99. In the US, the 320GB model will set you back $399.99, while the 160GB will cost $299.99.
The larger storage options come as a result of increased consumption of downloads from Sony’s Playstation Network, which offers full games and films.
